More about La Belle Epoque Napa
Very charming and tremendous service
We spent 2 days during our trip to wine country at La Belle Epoque. What a fantastic experience - the service was very friendly and the breakfast amazing. This B&B is within walking distance of the downtown and a perfect place to stay if you want to be close to it all. We really enjoyed our time there and would highly recommend it.
Appetizer for honeymoon
My husband and I had been married June 16, 2007 and had a vision for the most perfect honeymoon - Napa and then off to Maui.
A colleague of mine raved about this B&B and it looked so charming from the website and in person it was just as magical.
We have never been to Napa before and wow.....what a way to start of the honeymoon. Roxanne and Derek were so hospitable and the house was a true Victorian which we love. Even though we did not spend much time in our room - it was so wonderful to come back from a perfect day in wine country to this beautiful house with the smell of home cooking. The breakfast was delicious and the little wine gatherings at the end of the day were so nice....too bad we only made one of the 3. It's very hard to drink more wine after tasting all day.
There is not one bad thing to say about this B&B and I would go back again without hesitation.
Enjoy the pictures. What a way to start our honeymoon.
Enchanting La Belle
For our first trip to Napa we selected the enchanting La Belle Epoque B&B. We were not disappointed. The Pinot Noir room was charming and very comfortable. Our hosts Roxanne and Derek provide many additional touches to make guests stay even more enjoyable including fabulous gourmet breakfasts and assistance arranging dinner reservations and wine tours. We especially liked the evening social hour and wine tasting in the Wine Cellar when local wineries are invited in to showcase their wines in a friendly, intimate setting.
Don't miss this one!
If you have the chance to stay at La Belle Epoque, take it, you will not be disappointed. From check-in to check-out Roxann, Derek and staff do everything they can for their guests. Not just breakfast, a gourmet meal, day route planning, dinner reservations and of course the daily wine sampling in the beautiful wine cellar, all details taken care of.
We went to Napa to experience great wines, great scenery, and beautiful wineries. We did all that but at the end of the day it was the tastings at La Belle Epoque which we enjoyed the most.
And if you're lucky you may be able to enjoy an evening at one of the nearby restaurants with Roxann and Derek, as we did.
Great rooms, Great food, Great wine, Great garden and Great company, La Belle Epoque has it all!
Thank-you for the memories

Best Napa B&B
We recently had a fabulous getaway to Napa and were able to stay at La Belle Epoque which we wholeheartedly recommend as the most beautiful B & B we have visited. Our room, the Champagne Suite, which had recently been updated, was private and luxurious with complete attention to detail. It adjoined the wine cellar/tasting room, something I have never seen in a B & B before and which really made the stay a more authentic wine country experience. The main house is an architectural delight with absolutely beautiful touches everywhere including stained glass in almost every room. The grounds were lovely. The gourmet breakfast was wonderful as well.
Another feature is the location. We were able to walk just a couple of blocks to the shops and resteraunts of downtown Napa yet the house itself was on a nice, quiet street. This B & B is a special one !! Thanks to Roxann and Derek , as well as the staff, for making our stay so entirely enjoyable!!!!!
Try it, you'll love this place!
In beautiful and bucolic Napa Valley, there is an enhanted castle, I mean, a bed and breakfast, that far exceeded our expectations. La Belle Epoque is an absolutely first class establishment run by Mr. and Mrs. Archer. The quaint and elegant B + B furnished with exquisite taste and class is centrally located on Calistoga Avenue, in the heart of Napa. Old-world European charm describes the service. The Archer's hospitality, professionalism and thoughtfulness satisfies their guests every need. They provide luxurious accommodations and great food. Both Archers are people oriented and we genuinely enjoyed their pleasant company. Try it, you'll love it! We'll be back again!
2nd time even better
This was our 2nd visit to La Belle Epoque and we didn't think it could get any better than the first. The new owners, Derek and Roxann, could not have been more welcoming. They are "hands on" innkeepers from arrival to exit. They went out of their way to make certain our needs were met. Wine reception was exceptional! Roxann and Derek were there to join their guests even after a long day of making sure we all had our plans made for the day. To sum things up, if you want beauty, comfort, pampering and a very knowledgeable staff to send you off for the day, La Belle Epoque is a keeper!
We booked our trip very last minute. Just decided on a quick getaway to de-stress and leave the kids and house remodel behind. What a fun experience! The B&B is right in downtown Napa which at first I thought could be a little disappointing, not being in the surrounding hills. It was a blessing. We could walk everywhere. It is in a wonderful neighborhood and once inside our suite we could've been in a different era altogether. Very romantic. The breakfasts where delicious. The cookies set out for us in the afternoon where scrumptious. We decided to ride a tandem around the vineyards which was exhausting so the owner arranged a massage for us in the private garden of the house just what we needed. We cannot recommend this place enough. Great service. The only thing the mattress was a little too soft for us and we forgot to specify that my husband doesn't like cheese so he wasn't too into the sauce of one of the dishes. But we won't forget next time we go.
Very nice, restful retreat
My wife and I decided on a last-minute weekday getaway for our anniversary. We stayed in the Champagne Suite for just one night but came away feeling like we'd had a whole weekend. There are three main things that I think made our stay so nice:
1. Derek and Roxann are very good hoteliers but also make you feel like you're staying with respectable friends. I don't mean the kind who are annoyingly helpful and present at every turn - just straightforwardly nice people who balance when to be there and when to leave you to yourselves.
2. Staying at La Belle was relaxing, I think, because there's very little "vacation overhead" to waste your time and energy on. For example, check in and out is just a simple signature and quick explanation of the locks. When it came to dinner time, Derek and Roxann have a folder of local restaurant menus and gave us recommendations on places they themselves frequent. It saved time reading reviews and checking out endless options.
3. La Belle is high quality but in a modest, un-ostentatious way. Kind of Parisian/Victorian/English/Californian. The wine tasting was great, especially since the wine cellar is right off of the Champagne Suite! Jet tub was nice, too.
Basically, this is the kind of place that you leave feeling very satisfied because it was a great all around "stay" as opposed to just fancy, personality-less accommodations.
We spent a fabulous night at La Belle Epoque. Too many nice touches to list. Roxanne and Derek are most hospitable and friendly. Breakfast was tasty. The Inn is gorgeous.
