La Residence - coffee on the patio
Breakfast is served every morning at the inn between 9:00 am and 10:00 am, which is rather late for this early riser. Not to worry - I found plenty to do to entertain myself. I rose before dawn and ran on the country roads to the east of the inn, checked in on dear friends who were about to be pounded by Hurricane Frances in Florida, and stopped by the local market for a newspaper.
Coffee is available for early risers in the main dining room at 7:30 am. Each morning, I would bring two cups back to our patio and we would soak in the beautiful, warm morning Napa sun over coffee.

La Residence - inside
The rooms were extremely comfortable and attractively decorated with antiques, four post beds, down comforters, lots of pillows, plush chairs. Our room was very roomy and had a fireplace (which we didn't use in September). Each room has a private bath. Our bathroom was roomy with lots of marble.

Romantic Inn with delicious breakfast
La Residence is a beautifully appointed inn located in several cottages on the north side of Napa. Service was impeccable. The rooms were extremely comfortable and attractively decorated with antiques.
Unique Quality: The inn serves breakfast every morning. The breakfast isn't heavy. Both mornings, the breakfast was vegetarian, which suited me just fine (being a vegetarian). Even my meat eating hubby enjoyed the vegetarian breakfasts, which included seasonal fruit, fresh squeezed OJ, coffee, french toast, scrambled eggs and cinnamon rolls.
Each afternoon, a local winery hosts an afternoon gathering on the patio with complimentary wine and hors d'oeuvres. The afternoon we were there, the wines produced by a local family winery, Laird, which we had never heard of before, were being poured. We were extremely impressed with the Pinot Grigio, Syrah and Merlot. So impressed, in fact, that we went to the winery the next morning to stock up on these fantastic wines.
The inn also has a pool and spa, and arrangements can be made for therapeutic massages by appointment.
