More about Vino Bello
Beautiful room...

It is a last minute thing...We were fortunate to book a one bedroom executive suite for a very fair price.
The staff, Lisa, is very accommodating. I've read a recent email in regards to Lida and did not experience the same treatment. However, I can see she can be blunt and less helpful sometimes, perhaps depending on how one would approach her.
The room is very nicely decorated. The rich English decor in the bedroom gives a romantic, and cozy look: it is just perfect retreat for honeymoon or anniversary occasion. We fell in love with the bed...
I must say the designer has done a wonderful job in decorating the room. We usually stay at the Ritz and find the room at Vino Bello Resort is rather tastefully decorated with love, and passion.
The food at Siena restaurant is very good. Chilled Oysters and Crab Cakes were very well prepared. The waiter was very attentive. Overall, their food has better rating than the Grand restaurant on the Century Cruise, Celebrity. ( We were on the cruise to the West Carrbean in April 07).
I have not tried their spa and therefore cannot comment on the facility and service.
The pool was small though. I think if Vino Bello Resort invest in building a lap pool, heated or an indoor lap poll, they will surely be ahead of other resorts and cottages in the area.
The housekeepers need to be more friendly and maintain positive attitude. Room service was slow-one hour wait so Vino Bello Resort should work on improving the speed for room service.
Overall experience at Vino Bello Resort was excellent. Obviously, nothing is perfect....

Nice stay; would return

We go to Napa several times a year and have stayed at many places both in Napa and Sonoma. That said, I was excited to try the new Vino Bello. As a family of four, we are always looking for places that have more room and this fit the bill very nicely. We had no problems finding the resort or with checking in. I had requested a high floor (three is the highest) and received it. I wanted to upgrade to a two-bedroom but none were available. Since this was the Toyota Race weekend at Infineon accommodations were hard to come by and Vino Bello and the Meritage were completely sold out. Our wine (a Vino Blanc from Medocino County) was brought to the door along with our choice of waters and Pepsi products. I gave the guy $5 and he was completely surprised. I don't know if that played a factor in our receiving daily water and soft drinks or not. Washed clothes but had some problems with the washer -- Turns out the water was not turned on. Also, there is no wireless internet in the rooms (we were in the Cabernet building) but you do have high speed. The front desk was helpful with supplying us packing tape and scissors for our case of wine that we brought home. Additionally, we toured the wine cave, spa and played bocce. The kids really liked the pool area. We had a nice balcony but it was overlooking the parking lot so that was kind of a bummer. Overall, I would stay here again. We are used to staying at the Carneros Inn and the drive was about the same.
Just a couple of flaws

Great place for the price. Beautiful rooms and a nice pool area. Now for the bad: The resturant at the adjoining Meritage Resort (same owner) sucks - bad food, pricey and snail like service. Do yourself a favor and hop in your car and head the short distance (5 minutes) into Napa for an assortment of great places to eat (Try Uva's!). But the biggest annoyance to me was all the slamming doors. Whomever designed the doors in Vino Bello should be, at the very least, fired. All through the night I could hear "SLAM!" as the doors shut to rooms and the outside exits. It's almost like they are spring loaded for maximum impact. And oddly enough the studio rooms are joined by a small foyer that you must enter before entering your own room (two studio rooms are linked by this small foyer, making it impossible to enter/leave without annoying your neighbor). My recommendation: Get a room away from an outside door and/or a non-studio room in the upper two floors.
Other than that, and a particularly annoying kid in the pool one day (where were his parents?!) The place is awesome. Check out the SPA / Wine cave - really cool.
Noisy

The room is great except they didn't do anything to keep the noise down. The air conditioning was so loud you couldn't sleep with it on and when you opened the balcony door you had people in the parking lot or on the balcony screaming and making noise until 5:00am, the last time they woke me up. If you closed the door it was slightly better but they still woke me up at 3, 4 and 5:00am. The other problem is they don't have enough parking so don't be surprised if you get a substantial walk.
Plush apartments

Ultra plush 1-bedroom apartments in this timeshare/hotel complex. The bathroom was by far the largest and most upmarket of any hotel I've ever been in. The bed was almost ridiculously plush - and there was a whirlpool tub in the bedroom! The livingroom/kitchen was also extremely comfortable with great quality furniture. No timeshare pressure at all. No public space in the apartment buildings, you need to walk over to another building for the restaurant etc. Didn't eat at the restaurant. While the location is technically in an office park, you don't really notice since you drive at the edge of it and views are either of a field/waste ground or the hill visible in the online photos. Pool is OK, nothing special - slightly enclosed feeling, being surrounded by buildings or the hill. Spa was not yet open. They also have a bowling court (Boules). Fantastic quality inside the apartments, super comfortable and luxurious with wine theme, good furniture: public spaces and location are OK but not special, however they are not detrimental. Minor peeve - shampoo etc seem cheap, need a better corkscrew!
Ridiculously Noisey!

Stayed on Friday/Saturday night in a studio on the first floor, near entryway. As another review pointed out, whoever designed the doors in this place should be fired! All night, SLAM, SLAM, SLAM! And the Air Conditioner is way too loud, turning on and off about every 5 minutes all night. All said, a completely sleepless night. Besides the noise problem, it is a nice resort. But I probably wouldn't come back if I were looking for a restful vacation.

My room was beautiful & clean - when we finally got a room. We booked this trip in January and when we got to SFO I called the hotel to advise we would be checking in around 8:00 I was told there was no problem. When we got to the hotel there was a large wedding going on and we were told by one person that the hotel was over booked and there was problem with our room. Then the mgr. told us a water main broke and we would have to stay at the Marriott. I don't feel this was the truth. The next day when we checked into the hotel the front desk staff was rude and the manager would not come out to speak with us - after he told Expedia he would meet with us when we arrived. He said he would call our room and he never did,. I worked in the travel industry and we always offered the best customer service. I understand things happen, but they treated us like it was our fault. Horrible customer service.

"Wine country"
I took the navigator with me on this vacation, which enabled us to have a lot of fun, flying at a window seat is the best if you like to take photos, looking at the variety of terrain and how different it is from one destination to another...Iowa and Nebraska for ex. Arriving at the Airport, we were greeted by a wooden horse, taking the direct route to the resort located at Napa Valley, we arrive at Vino Bello (Wine Country...a lot of Italians live there, maybe that’s Y they have some of the best wines...lol)
The resort was very nice; Mike the Concierge stands out the most, he was extremely helpful and very knowledgeable about the surrounding area.
