More Expensive of the Three
Howard Johnson is a "bigger name" chain and the prices here are much higher than the others, except the Holiday Inn.
When I checked this out for a fellow VT’er, summer 2010, the price for a night was $69.89 and for a two week stay was $1,286.00 plus tax. Almost double the weekly price of the Super 8 Motel, on the same street.
The amenities were about the same, the physical features were very similar and the location is less than a block closer to the freeway or the SD Trolley station and bus stop.
Unique Quality: This too had a pool, a laundry room and free parking, but honestly, unless you get some sort of a big discount, I would not choose this motel over the other just for the name recognition, if I were traveling on a budget.
It is located between the Super 8 and the Rodeway Inn, so the restaurants mentioned above are as near, also.
