There is the Yosemite-SugarPine Railroad http://www.ymsprr.com/ - you need to call for their schedule in February. There is Nelder Grove (Giant Sequoias) but it may not be accessible - check with the US Forest Service office in Oakhurst.

Travel Tips for Oakhurst

Packing List

I dont need bags, because I live there. In the winter dress warm jackets (could be 15 degrees), in the summer tank tops (coould be 110 degress) Medical kit would be safe, because the medical centers are not open 24 hours Bring all, there are so many breath taking pictures to take there are many lakes near by, bring a boat, and swimming suites, and of course fishing gear chains in the winter in case of snow

OAKHURST, GATEWAY TO YOSEMITE

by travelgourmet

"YOSEMITE CALLS"

Oakhurst is one of California's gold towns. It sits at the junction of Hwy 49, the gold country road, and Hwy 41, the southern gateway to Yosemite. There are many hotel/motels and restaurants for the travelling tourists who want to relive those golden late 1800's (49ers) years of gold being discovered and mined all along the California hillsides.

But, the real draw to Oakhurst today is that Yosemite and all it's natural wonders are close at hand. One of the locations in Oakhurst trying to remember the way it was is the Fresno Flats Historical Park near downtown Oakhurst. Many displays of buildings and vehicles of the old pioneer days and wild west are here, as well as a fine museum of times past.
