Have you ever been in a town at one hotel and saw another that you wish you had stayed at instead? Come on, we all have had this happen. In Pacific Grove, stay at the "Seven Gables Inn" and you will be at the hotel you wished for and your wish came true.
Seven Gables Inn is a historic building built in 1886, on the Pacific Ocean's shore line of Pacific Grove looking out at Lovers Point. Many other buildings, 7 in total, encompass the Inn, to make it a much demanded accommodation. Pacific Grove is ideally located between Monterey and Carmel-by-the-Sea, both top sightseeing towns that will help to make your stay most memorable.
Unique Quality: Well, it is upscale, but the price of a night is made up by having a room with a view, a full breakfast, an afternoon wine and cheese reception, and that cookie with milk at night before you climb unto a bed that kings dream about. A stay at Seven Gables Inn will be a memory of your complete dreamer's holiday.

The Seven Gables Inn was constructed in 1886 and is one of the finest lodging options available in Pacific Grove. After acquiring the Grand View Inn in recent years, the combined hotel has some 25 rooms in three buildings ranging in price from $175 to $505. The Sea View Cottage also on the property was built in 1882. The B&B is located right along Ocean View Drive in PG within just a quick stroll of Lovers Point and about a mile from Cannery Row.

We stayed one night at the Seven Gables in their "Carraige House", a free standing building with one bed room/bath. It had a great view of the Bay and a working gas fireplace. The Inn has a nice wine hour that featured local wines and some cheese/fruit. The breakfast featured quiche, bacon/sausage, cereal, fresh fruit, etc. It was around $300/night but a really classy and romantic way to spend an evening in the Monterey area.
Unique Quality: The view of the Bay is about as nice as you can get. Walking distance to "downtown" Pacific Grove as well as the beach and Lovers Point Park.

Wonderful - second honeymoon - kind of country inn on a beautiful cove on the water.
Decor, ambiance, view, breakfast, late afternoon wine event.
Not the cheapest - by any means - but worth it for a special occasion.

Pacific Grove is home to some amazing Victorian mansions. According to Wikipedia, Pacific Grove has more Victorian Mansions per capita than any other city in America. In fact, the Monterey County Historical Society shows that PG has over 500 historic homes, most of these downtown and along the beach.
One of the Victorian mansions, the Seven Gables Inn, has been named by American Historic Inns Inc., as one of the top 10 most romantic inns in the United States.
