Every where you turn there's a golf course.

Golf...what is there about the facination of wacking the daylights out of a poor defensless little white (mostly) ball, only to get into a motor driven cart to chase it down ad wack it again until you finally deposit it in a 4 inch hole in the ground?
Must do something as people are spending thousands of dollars to perform the act.
In Palm Desert there seems to have been a golf course on ever corner that wasn't taken up by a restaurant or jewelry store. Hmmm...a number of "clubs" of varying pitch and shape to provide more or less "loft" to the helpless ball when hit.
Shoes with "cleats" to ensure you can walk on grass without slipping.
Powered cart to transport you from where you hit the ball to where it lands next.

This whole boulevard is art and that is not all of it. You will find it all over Palm Desert, Rancho Mirage, Cathedral City, and Palms Springs. It is amazing and I had wished I had much more time to seek it all out. I wish more communities would indulge in this public display of artistry.

The Living Desert - Animals

"Here Kitty Kitty...."
I am more of a "dog" person, but watching these rough & tumblin cats play made me think that some cats are actually pretty cool...
These two little guys looked like loads of trouble!
"Don't bother me..."
The size of the paws on this guy made me think twice about getting too close...
the next time you see warning signs about Mountain Lions in California, this is what you might run up against!
"No... I am NOT a pig! I dont have a Gall Bladder"
These animals possess unusual digestive systems consisting of voluminous gastric pouches, two blind sacs and glandular stomachs which allow them to digest a high cellulose diet....
Unlike pigs - these critters don't have a gall bladder.
"taking a break..."
This little guy sure does get around!
