Watch out for golf carts!
by rainfairy
While driving around the desert area, keep your eyes open for golf carts roaming outside the courses, often on the sidewalk.
Perhaps more prevalent at night, you may spot one coming toward oncoming traffic possibly on the street or sidewalk.
The website below describes a test program which was run. I am not sure of the results but know that whether this is legal any longer or not, it is bound to happen.
Hadley's Market. Right...

Hadley's Market. Right outside of town off the I-10, Hadley's makes some of the best date shakes anywhere. An unusual shake made from the dates that come from Date Palm trees, one taste of this frosty dairy concoction and you will become addicted.

This whole boulevard is art and that is not all of it. You will find it all over Palm Desert, Rancho Mirage, Cathedral City, and Palms Springs. It is amazing and I had wished I had much more time to seek it all out. I wish more communities would indulge in this public display of artistry.

New Year's in Palm Desert...ahhh.. Visons of warmth come to mind until I recall my avalanche survival training...You can FREEZE TO DEATH in the desert. And, ah, yup, this New Year's was no exception..
For us "warm weather folk" 55 F is Freezing. BUT, it was a wonderful time just to have almost 3 days off from work (ok, well, we did work most of the first day).
And yes folks, that "stuff" on the mountains above the "sunny" pool illusion is real, honest to goodness snow (notice the abundance of people in and around the pool area)...
