More about Pepper Tree Inn Palm Springs

Loved the Pepper Tree

by A TripAdvisor Member

My wife & I found the Pepper Tree from the Internet as we live in the UK ,so we did not know what to expect. When we arrived it looked fantastic and even better as we got to our room and explored the complex. It was obvious that a lot of planning had gone into the design & decor of the rooms and surrounding area, it really has to be seen to be appreciated.

Another thing that impressed us was the cleanliness of the place it was spotless, and the staff took pride in that aspect, they could not do enough for you and were always pleasant. The Spa & Pool were exceptional to say the least

It was unfortunate that we only had 2 nights there as we had to move on, but we are planning a more detailed trip to California next year and the Pepper Tree will be on our Itinerary without doubt.

We would reccomend the place to anybody and we already have to our friends.

Well Done Pepper Tree

We stayed here for 1 night whilst on a motorbike trip round California. This is a very lovely boutique hotel and I would recommend it to anyone. We stayed in a queen room on the ground floor. The room smelt lovely, was decorated beautifully and the shower was amazing. The swimming pool & jacuzzi were lovely after a day on the bike. The hotel was very quiet at night & is an easy stroll to shops and restaurants. Palm Springs is a beautiful place. The Air Museum is a good place to visit and the windmills by the freeway are quite a sight to see. Rubys dinner is a lovely cheap place for dinner. I will definately stay here again.

Great place

We spent our second anniversary at this hotel and LOVED it. The owner was on sight and very welcoming. Since we came during the off season he upgraded our room. The rooms were clean and smelled nice. The premises are impeccable. I was pleasantly surprised to find out they have a masseuse on sight...they do not mention that on palmsprings.

A fantastic weekend

My birthday falls on the same week as Thanksgiving every year and this year it fell on a Friday, the day after Thanksgiving. This year was even more special since my girlfriend and I celebrated our one year anniversary together. We wanted to go somewhere warm and our options were limited as far as driving somewhere relatively close. Palm Springs was suggested to me and I found the Pepper Tree Inn had exactly what I was looking for on the internet. Most of the hotels I called were already booked, but the Pepper Tree had rooms. I was a little nervous when I made the reservation but all those worries disappeared when we got there.

Our room was a king with spa and it was bigger than most rooms I've stayed in for the price. The spa was, surprisingly, separate from the bathroom, which was a nice touch. However, the spa we got (in room 17) wasn't as strong and hot as the outdoor jacuzzi so we used that one more often and we had it all to ourselves most of the 6 or 7 times we used it over 2 and half days.

The grounds are beautiful and they provide a light breakfast in the morning (coffee and pastries). The hotel is walking distance from the shops and galleries although that was only slightly disappointing since many shops seem to have gone out of business, leaving some parts of the area looking abandoned. But the remaining shops and restaurants were fine for window shopping and wasting time. There was also an art festival going on across the street at a park which was fortuitous for us. There's also a real bookstore and coffee shop attached to the hotel and you'll hit 2 or 3 mom n pop coffee boutiques before you hit the inevitable Starbucks about 8 blocks down the street.

Overall, for a lazy weekend for lovers, this place is perfect. There were only about 3 or 4 other couples there so we seemed to have picked a good weekend to stay. If we ever visit again, we'll definitely make the Pepper Tree our hotel of choice.

We Loved It !

I found the Pepper Tree Inn through the Internet. My husband and I spent the first week in December in Palm Springs and were very pleased. The Pepper Tree Inn is beautiful, the grounds filled with palm trees and flowers, art pieces and a pretty fountain. The management was very helpful and it's only about 10 minutes from the airport. It has easy access in and out to anywhere you want to go. It's within walking distance of many restaurants, shops, art galleries, book stores and theatres. The location is perfect and it's quiet, even though it's located close to busy streets. The only thing we found that could have been improved on was that we had no clothes hangers in our room when we arrived, and management could only find 5 for us. Also, there are no drawers in the desk or either end table in the bedroom. For a week's stay, we needed more storage space. However, the room was very nice, the bathroom was big, and the bed very comfortable - and I liked the fact that the bed had a nice cozy quilt instead of a blanket. We would definitely stay at the Pepper Tree again.

BEST EVER EXPERIENCE

by A TripAdvisor Member

My husband and I stayed at this beautiful hotel in October, 2003 and again in December, 2004. The hotel was as clean and as beautiful as it was during our first stay. During our recent trip we took our three children and stayed in one of their larger rooms - it was reasonable and so convenient for us. We had plenty of room and the kids all had their own place to sleep. Mark, the manager was immensely helpful with driving directions, dinner suggestions, etc and the kids loved everyone who worked there. It was so much better than staying in one of those high rise type hotels where you have to park so far away from your room. Everything about the Pepper Tree is convenient. It is located by shopping, tennis, golf and restaurants. The swimming pool and spa were big hits for the kids. When my five year old was asked where he'd been on his Christmas vacation, he said, "Hawaii". There are beautiful Palm trees every where and the fountains make it seem like it is Hawaii. We will definitely go back to this great hotel.

What a Surprise!

While reading Trip Advisor reviews, we kept seeing the "Pepper Tree Inn" listed as "the #1 rated" hotel in Palm Springs. After visiting its website (---), I was very skeptical about this hotel. It didn't look bad, but it looked more like a small "motel-like" place -- not what I thought after reading its reviews. I guess I expected a large, highrise, ultra-luxury resort.

My wife and I visited Palm Springs the weekend of February 4, 2005 and booked a room at the Pepper Tree Inn. We paid $145 a night for a "King Poolside" room. We immediately noticed its perfect location - situated right on the North end of Palm Canyon Drive. This hotel is close to everything....shops, restaurants, casino, etc. You could literally walk everywhere if you wanted to.

The place is layed out like a fancy motel from the 1950's, with the rooms built around the pool. The rooms were simple, comfortable, clean, quaint, comfortable beds, nice shutters blocking the sunlight perfectly. My wife said our room felt like a special room in somebody's home.....nothing fancy, but everything a guest would need to make them comfortable.

The staff was very helpful and friendly (they asked our names once, and remembered them during our entire stay). The pool and jacuzzi were great, surrounded by palm trees and nice views of the mountains. We spent over an hour sitting in the pool and jacuzzi one night before dinner, looking up at the stars.

We plan on making many more trips to Palm Springs, and we will continue staying at the Pepper Tree Inn -- our new home away from home.

Warm, wonderful, romantic winter getaway

by A TripAdvisor Member

In December 2004, my husband and I came here after a long week of law school exams to unwind and relax. Pepper Tree fit the bill perfectly. Although it is within short walking distance of all the Palm Springs essentials, it feels peaceful and secluded. The rooms are cozy and decorated nicely to fit in with a Southwestern hacienda feel. At the same time, they were tasteful and not kitchy. We had a jacuzzi in our room, but used the one by the pool more. We spent hours just lounging around by the pool reading and looking at the mountains. No review is complete without mentioning Norma's messages. My husband and I got a couples massage, and I was lucky enough to get Norma. Sheer bliss.

Highly recommended. We will be back the next time we need rejuvenation!

Sweet Little Hotel

by TripAdvisor Member ShariBerry

This is a sweet little hotel that we found by accident while in Palm Springs.
The people who worked there were very nice and extremely helpful.
Our room (handicapped) was really a nice size. We are not handicapped but we chose the larger room. We had a huge walk in shower and no tub.
The landscaping was nicely done and the room are very clean.

Our only problem was the walls were so thin that we could hear everything next door at 1:45 am. The neighbors were in the shower and it actually woke me up. I closed our bathroom door and it helped. Then at 5:00am the person on the other side started their shower. Not much sleep that night.

Charming place with excellent staff

by TripAdvisor Member Laloca

This hotel was a wonderful place. The Pepper Tree Inn has the best staff that I have ever seen at a hotel. They all know what they are doing, very friendly, and help us out with all of our questions and needs. Teresa was a charming girl, who always had a smile on her face, she was a friendly girl and gives Great directions (something unuasual at most hotels), she did a really great job with dinner recommendations and things to do in Palm Springs area. JM is also a very helpful genteleman. He helped us take our luggage to our room, upgraded our room, and even gave us a Fantastic price on the rooms. Mark was a very nice guy, and knows where everything is and what to do in Palm Springs, he even helped us with our computer needs. Bob the owner was there to great us. Lorena was my housekeeper who made up my room the weekend that I was there. Never had a better housekeeper! She always re-filled my shampoo conditioner and made sure all my towels were replaced and soap was there. She even changed my sheets every other day!

The hotel is a very nice hotel, spotless, and very beatiful. I will definately recommend the Pepper Tree Inn to anyone, main reason: STAFF. They even remember you by your name. That makes you feel at home when they treat you like their own!
