Bien sur, one must hike to the top! The fondest memory is hiking to the top (pretty steep). But the coolest thing was coming home and developing our pictures. We looked through them and noticed that we had snapped a picture just at the right time during sunrise and got a shadow of the PEAK down on the ground. Look at the quasi-pyramid shaped shadow. That's the peak. Isn't that cool?

"Hadley Fruit Orchards was founded by Paul and Peggy Hadley in 1931 in Banning, California. Their neighbors were the Morongo Band of Mission Indians. According to members of the Morongo tribe, Paul Hadley often provided tribal members with fruit and dates."
I took the kids to Hadleys for the first time in 2008, I had been here before many years ago. The main attractions here are the famous Date shakes and trailmix. I really like the date shakes but the kids didnt. This storehas that old time feel to it. Its a grocery story, and fast food place thats fun to stop at if you are hungry and want something different.
Many people that areging up to the San Jaciento Mountains to do some hiking like to come to Hadleysto get sme healthy snacks.
Theres a little bit of history here and somedelicious snakcs.
The store is located off the 10 Interstate, 16 miles west of Palm Springs.

Evrey time we go to plam Springs we love to drop in and have at least one meal at Thai Smile. Great Thai food at very reasonable prices. Don't miss this gem in the desert. Be careful - its packed around lunch time.
Step into the 50's

Once you step inside this place, you'll feel like you traveled back in time. The decor is very diner like with vinyl red booths, old school regirsters and jukeboxes. I just wanted to order a burger with fries and a shake. They actually have a very extensive menu from breakfast to lunch to dinner, and everything looks delicious. I was so torn between ordering breakfast or lunch, I wanted both. They have a cute patio area with umbrellas to block the sun. It's a great place to have a meal and watch the action along Palm Canyon Drive. The burgers and salads were delicious
Great Views

The Mount San Jacinto State Park at the end of the TramWay ride is a wonderful place to take a walk and enjoy fresh air and interesting and beautiful scenery. We took a short hike (The Desert View Trail) to a point from which we could see the desert below as well as the famous windmill farm. The 1.5 mile hike was just enough for us to build up a good appetite and the outdoor grilled burgers at the Top of the Tram Restaurant were delicious.
