Vancouver Airport to downtown Vancouver

by joanj

How far is it from Vancouver Airport to the Blue Horizon Hotel, Robson Street please.

Are airport taxis the best bet, or any other transport .

Re: Vancouver Airport to downtown Vancouver

by rmdw

I bet it'll cost you about $27 + tip by taxi.

I'd definitely take the green Airporter bus which should drop you off right in front of the hotel. Here's their website: http://www.yvrairporter.com

Cost is $12 one way or $18 for a round trip (you can take the trip back whenever you want).

A limo is 30.00 O/W if you want to splurge.

Travel Tips for Palm Springs

Village fest

by Martinewezel

On Thursday, Palm Canyon drive is closed to the traffic and transformed into a giant street fair.
Most stalls are alike: cheap-looking jewels, candles, stones, scarfs, cds from local singers, chocolate and other candy...

Most things are handcrafted.
There are also a few Indian stalls and some local farmers sell nuts and fresh fruit.

Local custom, but also a Tourist trap!

Location: North Palm Canyon Dr. From Baristo Road to Amado Rd.
When? Every Thursday evening except holidays 6 - 10 pm October through May, 7-10 pm June through September.

Morongo Casino Resort and Spa

by malianrob

49500 Seminole Dr. • Cabazon, CA 92230 • 800-252-4499 Morongo Casino, Resort & Spa is located just off I-10 in Cabazon, approximately 20 minutes west of Palm Springs.
This palce is owned by the Morongo Band of Mission Indians. It is hard to miss this place because it is huge and you can see it from the 10 freeway.
Another interesting thing about coming here is that you can gamble at 18 years of age rather than the usual 21yrs. Not just for gambling but also to see the shows.

Good food, good prices

by annk about Thai Kitchen II

We stopped here for lunch and was very pleased with the quality and low prices. The restaurant is certainly not fancy although Thai decor was displayed around the restaurant. They even had a corner where Thai gifts, mostly clothing could be purchased. Kung Pao Chicken - Very good, spicy and included white rice, cup of hot and sour soup. Price $4.95 which seemed like an excellent value for good food and generous portions.

Hummer Tour

by carla77

This is the best tour ever! The guide was fantastic and we saw things we couldn't belive - like the largest Joshua Tree in the world! What a treat that was. The hummer we took was so comfortable - the guide said it was a luxury model. Highly recommend these guys - they know their stuff! The owner of this company also works for Joshua Tree National Park Association so this is the one to go with.

Palm Springs Aerial Tramway

by annk

Ride the world's largest rotating tram car from the Mexican Sonoran Desert floor to an Alpine wilderness 8,516 feet high. The tram makes 2 full rotations during the ride giving viewers a 360 degree view of the valley floor and rocky mountain terrain. Trams hold up to 80 people but I would suggest going early to avoid the crowds. We were on the second tram up and had less than 10 on board. A definite "must see"!
Admission: $20.80 - adults
Trams run at least every 30 minutes starting at 10 a.m. on weekdays, 8 a.m. on weekends and holidays.
