A beautiful small bed and breakfast
The Cowper Inn is in a great location and has very comfortable rooms. My family stayed there when they came to visit. They enjoyed their stay very much, although they felt it was a little expensive. I think for this area and for the accomodations, however, the price is what I would expect. The staff also made a special arrangement to accomodate my family's late night arrival.
Unique Quality: You can walk anywhere around downtown Palo Alto easily from the Cowper Inn. There is a lot of nearby shopping and restaurants. My favorite yoga center is also only 2 blocks away. Yet the street that it is on is quiet and does not have a lot of traffic.
The buildings are very attractive, and if the weather is nice, you may wish to bring home some wine and crackers from the grocery, and sit out on the patio to enjoy them.
