www.laokay.com/HorsebackRiding.htm

There is horseback riding in Burbank, Hollywood and Sierra Madre.

For golf check out the Alhambra municipal Golf course about 10 min south of Pasadena. Reviews of the course can be found at golfreview.com

Hello:

Head over to the Pasadena Rose Bowl stadium. Immediately behind it is Brookside Park, a municipal course (actually 2 courses!) with reasonable rates for non-locals. Enjoy your visit!

This is a great little hair salon just for kids! Kids get to sit upon carousel horses while they get their hair cut. FUN!

UCLA or BCS - Head to the ROSE BOWL

by ATXtraveler

One of the largest traditions in the country when it comes to college football is the Grand Daddy of them All, the Rose Bowl. Located in Pasadena, this stadium boasts one of the largest arenas in which college football is played. During the regular season, the UCLA Bruins call the Rose Bowl home, but every Jan. 1 (except when the RB gets the National Championship game), you can find over 100,000 screaming fans in this place.

Super Bowls have been played here, and it is an absolutely beautiful setting for a game.

Bungalow Heaven Annual Home Tour

by Dabs

Bungalow Heaven was the first historic district to be designated in Pasadena and every year they have a tour that includes stops at several examples of bungalows in the neighborhood. I went on the tour on April 29, 2007 and on the one on April 27, 2008 and the tour included 6 or 7 homes that were open for viewing, fine examples of the Craftsman bungalows built in California, much different than the bungalows built in the Chicago area. The tour is self guided and most people were doing it on foot even in the extreme 90 degree heat. There was also a guided option but with the self guided tour they provided you with a very nice guide to the homes you were seeing and the different bungalow styles.

Next tour April, 2009

Pasadena Heritage also does a Bungalow tour, 16th Annual Craftsman Weekend is October 17-19, 2008. The ticket price is a little steep for a self guided tour, $45 for non members.

The Ultimate Kitchen Store!

by GracesTrips about Sur La Table

If you like to cook then this store will cost you a fortune! Oh my gosh! They have sooo much stuff and anything to everything you could imagine for cooking. So, I try to restrain myself when I walk past this store and not go in. Once I'm in, I'm bound to find something to buy. They sell quality items and therefore, it ain't cheap. (Yes, ain't is not a word but Americans use it to mean "is not"). Fun store, have fun shopping!
