Irish Beach Rentals: A bit north of Pt Arena....

This is the second time I've rented a house from this agency and again, it was a stellar experience! The office folks are friendly, kind, and efficient.

The house we stayed in this time, was called Sea B's and had a wonderful cliff view of the coast from most windows and the deck ... and the hot tub on said deck was a little bit of heaven :) The home sleeps 8, though 6 is easier. I didn't like the sofa bed, and found a roll away in the master closet .. I ended up choosing to sleep THERE! In the closet!!! It worked out well actually, but I still didn't feel like I had much privacy .....

The kitchen was well stocked with condiments and had almost every cooking implement we could want .... we love cooking when we stay on the coast and this place gave us that privilege.

Though the beach access wasn't one that we could easily walk to, it was a quick and easy drive. The area has a private/gated beach access road that allowed us to drive down, park on the edge of the beach and let Dad enjoy the beach as close as possible on this cliff-y coastal area :)

Serenisea: The best hot tub in 'Mendonoma'!!!

Serenesea is located south of Point Arena, in Gualala (pronounced "wa-la-la") and is an agent for many homeowners in the area who wish to rent out their homes as vacation rentals. I've stayed at homes, as well as the guest houses on the Serenesea property. Though less private, my favorite is the guesthouses. There are several around the office. Since they are located along a cliff, small children cannot stay here, but a family can rent a house away from the cliff.

Unique Quality: The guest houses are in circle around the office driveway. Each home has a wonderful view, and are varous sizes to best meet your travel needs. The hot tub is my favorite one - anywhere!

The vacation home rentals are nice, and vary tremendously in look, view and location - since they are real homes, this makes sense now doesn't it??

ADDENDUM 2006: Well, Serenesea has really gone downhill. They are not performing regular maintenance on the homes along the cliff ..... loose steps, falling tiles in the bathroom and such. They also don't seem much interested in listening to patron concerns about these things. As such I have to retract my formerly glowing review. I wouldn't recommend them in the future. Instead, look further north into Irish Beach for a home rental.

Manchester KOA: Camping along the California coast ....

You can use a tent, a camper, or rent a camping cabin. All sites have easy access to the shower and restroom facilities. The payphone is private. They also have a swimming pool, but I have never dipped myself into it ;) Trees surround the grounds, as well as being interspersed throughout the campground.

If driving, it is easy to get to the LIghthouse, beach paths, and shopping in the area from this location.

Unique Quality: Trees! Trees! Trees!

Point Arena Lighthouse &...

Point Arena Lighthouse & Museum Lodging - We would love to stay here, but not enough time for our trip, minimum 2 nights stay. The red roofed buildings you see on the right side of pics, is the unique 3bm/2ba homes next to the lighthouse and museum.
US$150 in winter

Unique Quality: GREAT views
