Still take something warm to wear...
by marinarena
like sweat shirt (as seen in the picture) or jacket when coming to the beach area here. Guys- have one for your lady while walking together along the pier. It can get cool and windy throughout the year, especially at night. This is of course true of any beach along the cold Pacific!!
Steak and seafood
by malianrob about Kincaid's
I have come here a number of times and I have never been disappointed. The food and the service is just good!
I have also come here with different people and it seems like everyone is always satisfied.
This place can be dressy but casual is ok. The atmosphere is pleasant and you can sit either outside (heat lamps are available) or inside. There are big winows everywhere so you have a great view.
They also have a good size bar here and they make delicious appletini's. They have lots of seafood and really good steaks made to your liking.
REDONDO BEACH - My choice
by icunme
"Skip the glitz - head to the Southern-most beach"
This is the little gem in the stretch of Los Angeles beaches that begins above Malibu and takes you through Santa Monica, Venice, Marina del Rey, Playa del Rey, Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach and, finally Redondo Beach. My favorite is the area of Redondo Beach that is at the southern tip - where you see the Palos Verdes peninsula stretch outward into the Pacific. It is relatively quiet here, less crowded (except on weekends), certainly cleaner, decidedly more civilized. From the beach, stroll a few blocks into Riviera Village - quaint shops, lovely outdoor cafes abound, smiling faces are not a novelty here.
"Be buzzed by a seagull"
He's really friendly - almost a bit disconcerting in that they seem to have become scavengers. I don't see them out in the ocean "fishing" for the day's meal. We may have overfed them to where they are now dependent on us for their breakfast, lunch and dinner!
"Surfers love this beach"
Wayfarers Chapel

"Wayfarers Chapel"
Designed by Lloyd Wright, son of the architect Frank Lloyd Wright. Its' premise was one of a positive outlook and oneness with nature and spirit. It may be the most spiritual church I have stepped into. It is awe inspiring.
"Philosophy"
"Overlooking the beautiful Pacific Ocean, Wayfarers Chapel was conceived as a respite for all wayfarers on the journey of life. Here all people may sit and be nurtured by the beauty of nature and enjoy peaceful meditation. No one realized that this simple idea would produce a world-renowned sacred site. The power of Wayfarers Chapel is a blend of the sacred purpose and beauty that people experience. This experience of the sacred through quiet beauty is emphasized by the openness and echoing of nature in the elegant glass structure."
