Howdie Officer!
My VT pal Phil will groan when he sees this one! Haha. But I just had to ask California State Park Ranger Mark Hada if I could take his picture. I even gave him the details of Virtual Tourist, haha.

I am looking for an RV park in the greater Sacramento area. Previously we stayed at the KOA in west Sac (not impressed). Is there camping at Cal Expo? We will be in Sacramento in the Nov. for a month or so.
I would look into joining the Good Sams Club because I know of many individuals who belong and their club as the ins and outs of good and bad parks. Here is the link, hope it helps. Triple AAA is another good place to check with.

Flag City RV Resort is 33 miles from Sacramento and has a lot of different activities available. They have a great website at: http://www.flagcityrvresort.com/
I hope this helps.

If you come to Sacramento between May through October pack LIGHT!!! You wont want to wear anything becasue it will be about 110 degrees F with a bit of humidity coming off the river. A tank top (T-shirt for guys), cargo shorts and a pair of flip flops and you will blend seamlessly with the locals. This attire will be welcome at just about any restaurannt and bar as well.
For the winter pack the opposite, although still just as casual. Jeans and a cozy sweater will suit you just fine a coat wouldn't be a bad idea if you have room in your bags. It can be in the high 30's F during the winter.
If you don't have a car, you can take the Greyhound bus to come to Sacramento. Be aware that the bus station (Bus Depot) is located downtown, 2 blocks away from the Capitol Building. While it is safe during the day, the neighborhood gets more dangerous at night.
The buses are not very comfortable and people who ride them are usually poor.
This place is, despite the name, actually a burger joint instead of a meat distributor (which I think it originally was). It is clearly one of the best burger places anywhere in the region. The burgers aren't "gourmet" or "fancy" and they are just simple, straightforward burgers, but they are excellent. If you want a good, traditional hamburger this place is simply great. All I've ever eaten here is hambugers and fries, but they have other things on the menu. I get the so-called "French Ground Steak" burger, but I don't know why it's called "French."
It's located in "Old Town" Sacramento. We went up in may of 2002 to see Thomas The Tank Engine. The weather was perfect and we walked every where. We stayed across from the Sacramento Capital Building. The food was way expensive. So plan to bring your Credit Card.
