Stop by and see lettuce man!
by Shaft28
While driving through Salinas, and it is through because no one really goes TO Salinas, you must stop and see the strange gigantic roadside pictures of farm workers. While most of them celebrate the Hispanic heritage in the local farm areas, this one is oddly hilarious.
We like to call him lettuce nuts. But that is mostly because my friends and I are depraived individuals. Goo distraction on the long ride home. Leaving!

Salinas is an ideal location to live. It still maintains it small town charm. Its centrally located in California. It's a 25 minute drive to the beach, not too far from San Francisco and you can drive to great State Parks. If you're up for a couple hours drive, you'll be rewarded with great lakes for fishing and if you like it hot, down south is the desert, Death Valley, believe me, it's very, very hot! If you like skiing Tahoe is north of us. The weather here is great, cool in the morning, warm during the day, and foggy in the evening. It's common knowledge, you always leave your house with a jacket in the trunk of your car, even if you are going to the beach.
