Best Beachfront Bargain!!
We heard about this little motel in Sunset Magazine rated as one of the best beachfront bargains. It really did offer excellent prices! Every room has a gorgeous view! This is a very tiny, family run motel with only 20 or so rooms, so make your reservations early.
The rooms having little kitchenettes which are very old and small, but great for cooking a quick inexpensie spaghetti dinner for the family traveling on a budget! They have fire pits for bonfires in the evening, and barbeque grills for all to use.
The motel is up on a hillside over looking the beach and pier. There is a short walk down the sidewalk and across the train track to get to the beach. The beach is very family friendly with a playground, snacks, bathrooms, and lifeguards. South of the pier is the swimming beach, North of the pier is for surfing.
We've been back on 3 separate occasions for our family vacation to enjoy Southern California.
Unique Quality: cozy, amazing views, outstanding price and beautiful grounds.

Great View of the Ocean
I haven't stayed here but want to!
Unique Quality: This place is just up from the pier overlooking the ocean and within walking distance from the train stop (no station) which is right at the pier. You can come to San Clemente w/o a car, stay here, surf, have drinks and seafood on the pier, watch the sunset, and even walk into the old main part of town. The place is very low key, very picturesque.
