Just one hell of an AWESOME place!

So freaking great!
If you liked the USA Hostels in San Fran and LA you'll hate this place. BECAUSE if you need to come here to feel like u'r back at your parents place, you've come to the wrong place. This is a very friendly, do whatever the hell you feel like kind of place. It's been 2 months and I still think and dream about the Bungalow daily.
It's party time, vacation time here. It's right on the beach too. This is also not a place for high maintenance people who need their beauty sleep, not that you can't sleep here but it's just that you don't want to sleep here. Think freedom, beach, beer. A bit like college years but better.
Of course this might depend on the people who stay there. If those people from USA hostel decide to show up you're in trouble.
LOOK-OUT FOR THESE FEW THINGS: The washing machine can be a bit harsh on your clothes and breakfast meant toast with butter and jelly. But they provide a cooler for the beer. Bring your own locks cuz u need 25 cents every time you want to lock their lockers. Also, watch out for your flip-flops on the beach. They tend to disappear.
Bring a thick sweater for the nighttime. It gets so freaking cold by the water.
RECOMMENDED BUT not for just anyone. If you need all-quiet time to read, please don't come here to disturb the fun.

My love to the Bungalow of Aug/Sept 2004
Ana :)

Unique Quality: Right on the beach. Really. We all watched the sunsets right on the deck every day. It was soooo amazing. I loved it there.
There are a bunch of places to buy food around there too. You can walk to all these places (including a 24-hr 7/11). There're a bunch of bars too.
You can also hang out with the homeless dudes on the beach if you want to. They never bothered us while I was there so don't be alarmed.
The Bungalow is a Unique place itself. Not much else to say.

Hostels in San Diego

Hostelling International
San Diego is fortunate to boast not one, but two HI locations, the HI Downtown location is just minutes from the San Diego Airport, providing visitors with an easy outlet to such popular area attractions like SeaWorld, Balboa Park and the San Diego Zoo! The HI Point Loma location is just a short distance from Ocean Beach and the nighttime hot spot of Newport Street.
The Ocean Beach International Hostel
If you're looking to get plenty of sun during your upcoming San Diego then I , recommend checking out the totally cool Ocean Beach International Hostel, also known as OBI. Located next to the scenic Ocean Beach shoreline, OBI is the place to be if you're looking for fun during your upcoming trip! Located in the heart of San Diego, OBI is close to exciting neighborhoods like the Gaslamp Quarter and Downtown, while area activities include everything from snorkeling and whale watching to boogie boarding and sun bathing! Loads of great bars and nightclubs are also located within walking distance of the OBI, so go ahead and check it out during your upcoming vacation!

Other great hostels in the San Diego area include the USA Hostels San Diego branch and the Banana Bungalow San Diego. All of these accommodations are super cheap, providing visitors with exceptional service and friendly staff. If you're planning on utilizing one of the San Diego hostels during your upcoming trip, its recommend to bring your own bed linens, as many hostels will charge you extra to rent an in-house set.
