Another Non Connection

Bad (2.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on July 31, 2006

As far as a cheap(ish) hotel booked at short notice goes this was an OK hotel. Friendly, efficient check-in, no problems changing rooms when I discovered that they'd put us in non-smoking. Clean, comfortable spacious room with a coffee maker. The advertised internet connection was an extra cost but the room itself was cheap enough and so that wouldn't have been a problem had the thing worked! 2 calls to tech services and borrowing a bridge from reception failed to sort the problem which was a major bugbear especially as I had booked the hotel on the basis of the connection.

Unique Quality: The hotel's general location is pretty good, easy driving distance from downtown, the beaches and the airport, though the actual area itself is a bit downmarket. There is a small outdoor pool and hot tub.

Directions: On the main road opposite the lapdance club! (Also next door to I-Hop)

Direct booking seems to be impossible online and so site below is a general one:

A GOOD SLEEP

Good (3.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on June 14, 2005

We had booked this motel from Germany because our plane arrived late at San Diego airport and we expected to be quite tired after being on the plane all day. Which we were!

We got our car, drove directly to the travelodge with only a few detours and u-turns because we got mixed up with Californian street names ;-) and fell straight into the giant bed.

Unique Quality: Breakfast was served in the morning which basically consisted of coffee and danish. The price we got on the internet was very good (66 Dollars incl. Tax) and the rooms are huge and clean. We only stayed for one night but what I really enjoyed was the powerful hot shower when we arrived.

Other than that I was impressed with millions of TV channels, with the fact that the small pool area was called "spa area" and that there was a "No Lifeguard on Duty" sign next to a 3 ft pool ;-)
