Crystal Pier Hotel is located directly on the pier in Pacific Beach. It is pretty expensive but the cottages look like a great option for that special romantic weekend.

The cottages are reached by passing under the Crystal Pier Arch and walking along the pier. On either side of the Crystal Pier Arch are the second story rooms. They might be an option for those who want a bit more privacy. The cottages cost more, but are like little houses and so cute.

Make sure you are clear which you prefer a second story room or a cottage. Reservations come in months a head of time during the summer so make your reservations early. Another thing to keep in mind is that "In Season" there is a three night minimum and in the "Off Season" the minimum stay is two nights. However, if you walk in to get a room you can rent the room for only one night, that is if they have a room available.

This is a unique choice for a few nights stay. Be warned that during the day the pier is open to the public and it is not unusual for all manner of people to be seen passing the cottage doors on their way to do a bit of fishing. Then be assured that at night the gates are closed and all is safe.

Pacific Beach is a community of San Diego about eleven miles northwest of the downtown / Gaslamp Quarter.

Unique Quality: Individual cottages along the pier with a small kitchen, a small balcony, a wonderful view of the Pacific Ocean and let's not forget the parking! This is the ideal place for anyone wanting to spend more time in their room than touring the city. Such as honeymooners.
