>>>...good adult clubs with hot dancers that dont hound you to death for tips?

This is an oxymoron.

The whole purpose of these clubs is to make money for the place and the dancers.

There are plenty in San Diego, but I doubt that you'll find one where the hot dancers aren't expecting generous tips for their work.

Travel Tips for San Diego

Lemonade Berry Bush

by Yaqui

If you have noticed that along the walking path from the Point Loma Lighthouse to the Whale watching overlook, you’ll see many wonderful species of local plants. The park took the time to plant many of the significant plants that are local to this area. The Lemonade Berry bush appears to be a very simple, but will bloom from February to May these small white to rosy pink petals and are very fragrant. Take the time to look about them.

San Diego Zoo is a must. Go...

by PINIKI

San Diego Zoo is a must. Go across the Coronado Bridge to North Island and Silver Strand. Make sure you do not miss the beaches. La Jolla is nice but crowded and expensive. Mission Beach, Ocean Beach and Pacific Beach are great. My favorite is the Point Loma Light House. The ocean. I moved away in 1979 but I miss the sound and smell of the water.

Restaurant Pager... interesting

by vigi

After freshing up & some rest, we walked along Mission Boulevard to look for food. We came to this Mexican Restaurant, Gringo's, where many people was queuing up outside, thought must be good, so, we took a queue number as well. Interesting they gave us a pager. This is the first time I see this "hi-tech" device, we do not have this in Hong Kong. We can keep this to walk around, and only return to the when the pager beeps, flash or vibrates! Cute!!

Adams Avenue!

by lmkluque

Adams Avenue is well known throughout San Diego as the location of many, funky coffeehouses, a place to hunt antiques, its many bookstores and for it's cozy street faires. The section of Adams Avenue that is suggested here is about thirty-nine blocks which run through the communities of University Heights, Normal Heights and Kensington Park.

In recent years the term "Adams Avenue Antique Row" has been adopted to describe the 20 or so shops that sell used goods, some genuine antiques and many collectables along Adams Avenue.

Serious collectors may not be so impressed with the items offered and the prices seem, to me, not to be very competitive. However, for those who love browsing used stores looking for unusual items or those who want the nostalgic feeling of searching for a fantastic find in an out of the way place, Adams Avenue is just right for you. Books are my thing and there are plenty of shops that offer first editions, various genre collectables and some new books as well. Over the years I have spent months worth of hours in these shops and even I attended a few writer's workshops on Adams Avenue, back-in-the-day.

Nearest Beaches to Downtown

by lmkluque

If your hotel is downtown, it will be on the east side of SD Bay but the Bay is not a place to swim. You could take the Ferry across the Bay to Coronado Island and from there it's a mile or so to the beach. Other than that the nearest beaches are Ocean Beach, Mission Beach and Pacific Beach.

Accessable by public transportation, take the SD Trolley at the Station nearest your hotel and get off at the Old Town Station, from there catch the bus to any of these beaches.

Keep in mind that the Pacific Ocean is a much larger body of water than, say, the Mediterranean Sea and it takes much longer to warm up. The water here never gets very warm. Of course, even when it's cooler, once you start swimming you'll warm up.
