Motel 6 San Diego Downtown: They turned the lights out on us!

Run, do not walk, away from Motel 6 (actually Motel 666) in San Diego. My fiance and I made a reservation for the motel and when we got in late around 1:30 am the front desk had 2 other couples there trying to get their rooms, too. Apparently, they screwed up on all our reservations and the manager became verbally hostile to all of us, including one couple who worked for the parent company, Sofitel. They told us to go to another hotel and that they would accompany us there, but would not pay for the hotel we were going to, which was 2 1/2 times more expensive. They never accompanied us there. As a result, we got 3 hours sleep and paid $170 out of our own pockets. For our troubles, after writing a letter of complaint, we got a coupon for a free night at a motel 6, which we never used because we will never go to a motel 6 ever again.
