Ramada Mission Valley / SDSU

This is a motel rather than a hotel and is in the lower priced range. The amenities are on the basic level but the price is easy on the budget and it is one of several in this price range located at Hotel Circle.

Super 8 is squeezed in between two other places at the east end of the street. There's a nice restauarant next door at the Seven Seas and the bus stop is not far away, if you are relying on public transportation.

This is the basic, bare bones type of place you'd choose if you are only interested in a bed to sleep on and not resort type additions.

Unique Quality: Will you have a car while in San Diego?

If so you might consider that the price for parking at most hotels in the Gaslamp or even in Old Town will add to your expenses, at least $25.00 a day. If this is the case, you might consider looking for a hotel/motel at Hotel Circle. You will find more of a price range to choose from in Hotel Ciricle as well as lower prices in general for a room, than in the Gaslamp Quarter.

Also, there is a SD Trolley station in Mission Valley, just at Hotel Circle (on the north side of I-8) which would make it convenient for you to go to the Gaslamp by Trolley and return by Trolley. At the Mission Valley Trolley station there is plenty of free parking, plus at the hotels in Hotel Circle, there isn't a charge for parking your car.
