Vacation rental in San Diego

The Cottage is a delightful one bedroom vacation rental in the Hillcrest area of San Diego. You get to it by walking along a beautifully landscaped walkway along the side of the owners home. You enter a gate into a darling little garden with two seating areas and a fountain. One of the seating areas is for smokers. (The cottage is non-smoking). From here you enter the cottage. It is decorated with antiques and has a king-size bed. The kitchen is small but did not really pose a problem. It is within walking distance of stores and a large number of restaurants. City transportation is within a two-block reach and you can get to the downtown area and the Old Town transportation hub easily. There is adequate on-street parking. Rates are $85-150 a night. I rented for a week in August 2006 and paid $85 a night for one person.

It is not suitable for people who are unable to climb a few stairs as there are a few steps in front of the house and the cottage.

Unique Quality: Just darling! and Carol and Bob are wonderful and very helpful. The bed was extremely comfortable.

  • Opinion of Price: less expensive than average
