THE VILLAGE HOUSE - Guest House in the Castro

Owned and operated by the same folks who run 24 Henry Guest house,
I remember I really liked this place - The Village House when I checked it out.

Walking down 18th st from Delfina to the Castro, I struck up a conversation at the front gate of this place with one of the tenants. He was nice enough to take me and my dinner / work buddy inside for a complete tour, and I was impressed.

Clean, very SF / Victorian, well furnished and affordable, in one of the best locations and funnest neighborhoods in the City. They even have installed a new Brandy Ho's (some of my favorite spicy 'Chinese' food) just a couple doors down the block to the east.

Village House Guest house gets really good reviews at Trip Advisor and Yelp as well, but I personally could tell that I would be happy staying here anytime I wanted to enjoy this really great neighborhood and the surrounding parts of the City.

Affordable as well, most of the rooms rent with discounts from 24 Henry / Village website, at anywhere (with discount) from ~$80 to ~$110 (with discount) for the bigger rooms with private bath, as long as you book for 3 days or longer. A great deal imo.

Gay friendly (of course - Castro) but EVERYONE is welcome and treated well here (even ME). Again, check the reviews at Yelp and TripAdvisor for corroboration of my ranting.

Unique Quality: Well furnished, helpful staff, clean, affordable (especially for San Francisco), free wi-fi, excellent area with lots of fun stuff to see and do within short walking distance, gay/straight friendly. What's not to like?

All in a cool blue tastefully-furnished 2-story Victorian in the heart of the Castro. My favorite SF restaurant (Delfina) is just a few blocks east down 18th at Guerrero, walking past Mission Delores. A great area.
