    "Boutique" hotel located a short walk form Pier 39/FWharf.
    Far enough away from the noise and hustle bustle.

    Very nice rooms, service, free wine/beer tasting in the afternoons early evenings and a good restaurant right next door, Cafe Pescatore.

    Location.

    Priceline and Hotwire offer this place.
    We got it 2x this year at less than $80.

    We stayed in a room facing Union Square great view of all the activity down below. Alot of street noise from the room, sirens and cable cars, but we were in the city!

    This was one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in, right on the square with a cable car stop right in front. I highly recommend this one, the excellent accomadations are well worth the steep price.

    Historic building, great location, rumored to have ghosts.......

  • I marveled at its structure - it being the only hotel standing after a devasting earthquake. It's over 100 years old.

    Union Square has its proximity to shopping, museums, and of course access to all of San Francisco. Opera curbside was exsuisite on a beautifully clear, and windy day in October . Service was impeccable, amenties sufficient, comfortable and spacious. The drinks flow and the food is excellent.

    Views could not be had from my room. Mine was a functional accommodation; the business guest - at a reasonable cost with a reasonable amount of shopping. Taxis readily available and staff anxious to assist.

    This is an inexpensive motel that is close to Fisherman's Wharf and near the Union Sreet Shops. When checking in, you will be given a key-card which gives you access to the elevator-entrance into the building, and the same key-card lets you into your room. I wouldnt recommend walking to Fishermans Wharf unless you want to hike the hills. Maps can be deceiving because streets on a map don't indicate how steep the streets are in San Francisco. Room was pretty clean. I didnt spend much time in the room so it didnt matter, but yes, it was clean enough. When trecking out to the Fisherman's Wharf from this motel, there is a bus stop around the corner. Take the 47 bus and it will take you to Pier 39 for $1.50. Better $1.50 than hiking for 30 minutes. Hotel staff is real friendly. They will give you directions and tell you which bus to go to. Even which restaurants are open at 6am (they helped me out a lot). When I come back to SF I will probably come back to this location again.

    This is a no-frills motel. Clean room. TV, air conditioning. Within walking distance to liquor store and Union Street shops. Crab restaurant next door. 24 hour Ihop restaurant within 6 blocks. Taco Bell & KFC also within that perimeter. Friendly staff, they will even provide you a map and tell you which bus/trolley to hop on if you ask for directions.

    Location was excellent for exploring the Fisherman's Wharf and the waterfront area. Staff is very friendly and worked hard to meet our requirements. No Elevators, No Air conditioning. Rooms are a little on the small side, but were quite addiquite for us. Clean and quiet on the whole.

    Great views....Ask for the top floor rooms.

  • I stayed here and had a good experience, especially considering the killer rate I got! The rooms were recently renovated, and the staff was quite proud of this. They called me after I'd been in my room for twenty minutes to ask if everything was satisfactory. Nice. The room was clean and tastefully done, The rooms all face a parking lot but I wasn't bothered by noise.
    I liked the location, there were many restaurants and shops in neighbourhood,just around the corner on chestnut street. Also walking distance to the Muni bus stop. they had a free parking but i didn't rent a car this time.but i used their free high speed DSL service and it was really a high speed. I would stay here again, especially if I received the amazingly low price I got during my last visit. Sure beats the Day inn on lombard St.Just two blocks from this travelodge that I stayed at a year ago.
