don't park your car
The hotel is ok, basic but compared to the price / value ok. Staff is friendly, but don't park your car there (not even valet) mine got broken in......... it is in a rough area, although safe to walk if you don't mind the beggers

Hi,
Just a quick question. Has anyone stayed at the "Best Western Americana' or Renoir Hotel? Any comments? I'll only be there for 3 nights so it doesnt have to be luxurious, just somewhere clean and in a good position.

Check the San Francisco page of Waalewiener. He and his wife stayed at the Renoir Hotel in 2004. I personally do not like the neighborhood but they were happy with the hotel.

Check out the Union Square Hotel. Old and definitely not luxurious(you even have to bring your own shampoo)...but in a much better location than the Americania(which is a fine hotel in a terrible neighborhood).
