    A San Francisco Hidden Gem

    by

Casa Loma is rated as a ONE STAR hotel but what many don't realize is that the rating system for hotels is based on amenities more than anything.

My hotel room was not a suite, it was a small room that had a bed, a nightstand, a clock, a sink with mirror, a dresser with a small flat screen TV and a mini fridge. That being said it had a phenomenal view of the city and in the end, all I needed was a bed and that view!

My room didn't have a restroom or shower, there were two of each to share on my floor. If you have ever traveled Europe you will be used to accommodation like this. It was perfect for what I needed ...a place to rest my head and get ready for the day.

The staff was lovely and the neighborhood quiet. Downstairs near the front desk there is a room with laundry facilities and a few vending machines for snacks.

I have seen some of the reviews on the hotel and I think if you are expecting a 5 star hotel you will definitively be disappointed. If you are expecting the charming little hotel that it is you will be overjoyed.

The bus stop to downtown is a block away. At that same cross street there is a little market but I would go to a normal market as it was expensive. I walked out late one night to find two guys playing table tennis on the sidewalk by the church across the street and they gave me recommendations for a fun bar (Noc Noc) a few blocks away on Haight.

All in all, I would stay there again and again as it was in a great location, my bed was comfy, I had an amazing view and the price could not be beat!

Unique Quality: - Amazing views of the city if you ask for a room with a view.
    - Great location
    - Easy access to public transportation.
    - BETTER THAN A HOSTEL and at about the same cost!

Directions: Corner of Fillmore and Fell Street, Just a few blocks from the famous Painted Ladies homes and Alamo Square Park.
