The complimentary breakfast is small, coffee and muffins, but the service is friendly and the rooms are in good shape. There is no central heating - only oil heaters and windows that open. But judging by SF's weather that's all you'd need.
It's an affordable hotel with a good location for using the public transport, particularly the busses. However if you are nervous of dark quiet areas I would not recommend it. There are no other hotels near by so it is a little isolated. There are quite a few homeless people that sleep in the area but we had no problems.
Great place if you're used to sleeping in hostels and want a step up.
The hotel is a really pretty building. Also there is a good Irish pub attatched to the hotel.
