on November 4, 2004Each room is named after a winery, we stayed in Trefethen on the 8th floor. It was perhaps the most comfortable bed we've ever slept in! We had a corner room so it was quite large and very well appointed. It's just 2 blocks from Union Square so it's in a fabulous location, just off of the Hyde-Powell cable car line.
The evening wine tasting can't be beat. It runs between 5-6 pm in the lobby next to the roaring fire. We met a lot of fun people at the evening wine tasting and we made sure we always made it back in time. It was our favorite part of our stay at this hotel.
Service is second to none. This hotel caters to adults who are interested in wine culture, so I would say this hotel is definitely not child friendly. Small children would be bored and quite honestly, would be very disruptive to the adults who need a slice of serenity and wine.
