Grand Hyatt union Square

Its a very nice hotel in the centre of union square which is right in the centre of the shopping district, it is also just a two minute wlak from china town. The hotel is very nice and the rooms are pretty big.

the hotel has a fully equiped gym which is free for guests at the hotel to use. The staff are very helpful and knowledgable bout the area and give great tips on where to eat.

Unique Quality: The hotel bar is situated on the top floor and has a great view of the city.

Great Views

This can be kinda expensive but it's a great place to stay. It's on the north end of Union Sq. which puts it in a pretty central location for San Fran. The bar/restaurant on the top offers incredible views of the city and the whole bay. It's worth a trip even if you're not staying here. Rooms are very nice.

Nicely located

A very nice hotel and usually a good service. But unfortunately the service was so slow one morning that I was going to miss my meeting so I cancelled my order and the waiter insisted to charge for the canceled breakfast.

Good location, ok hotel

I stayed here for about 5 days in December 2003, it was clean enough, and just about ok. However the room was very small, disappointingly so in fact. (Well it sure wasn't actually grand like the Grand Hyatt in Hong Kong, that's for sure!)

I don't think there was a pool, as it was December I had no intention of going swimming anyway.

There was a pretty good gym on the top floor.

There was an internet service available free for a limited time in the lobby area.

The staff were very helpful, especially the conceirge ladies.

Unique Quality: Good location, within walking distance of Chinatown (had many meals there!), good shops, trams, restaurants etc.

On the way back to the airport we were kindly taken to a limosine in a nice car for the same price as a regular taxi, by the hotel.

Hotel in the Middle of it All

Grand Hyatt San Francisco is centrally located next to Union Square, across the square from the world famous St. Francis Hotel. Within walking distance to Moscone Convention Center, Chinatown, North Beach, Cable Cars, many fine restaurants, shops and of course Union Square. Rooms are modern, clean and what you expect from a Hyatt Hotel. Definitely not a your hotel if you are on a budget.

Unique Quality: The staff is attentive and friendly. The rooms facing Union Square have nice view of the Square. There are spectacular views of the city from the Grandviews Lounge and Grandviews Restaurant atop the hotel.

If one doesn't mind spend a lot for a hotel room, the Grand Hyatt on Union Square is conveniently located to Union Square, on several bus lines, and only a short walk to Chinatown.

The Grand Hyatt--Embarcardero

Can't remember but I do remember that it was pushing our hotel limit at IBM!

Unique Quality: HUGE hotel, great location, clean rooms, steps away from shopping (the Embarcardero stores), across from the Bay and just minutes to your meetings.

More about Grand Hyatt San Francisco

Great location

by TripAdvisor Member chsmith

Stayed at the Hyatt over Valentine's Day weekend 2004. The best thing about the hotel is the location. Its central to everything. The room was clean, the room service food was tasty and the staff was very helpful. They were able to find me a reservation at a top restaurant on Valentine's Day which is next to impossible. I would stay here again.

San Francisco with Teens

Just returned from San Francisco trip. San Francisco is worth a trip, incredible place. We had high 80's temp and cool at night of course.
The Grand Hyatt is an ok hotel, nothing special except the excellent location off Union Square. You can get there on the Bart (train system from the airport that is 4.95 cents per person, then a short walk to the hotel. You can get to all areas of tourist interest within a few blocks to transportation for 1.35 per person under 18 is only .35. We felt safe all around. The conceirge was excellent with advice on how to get to all locations. The front desk was unfriendly, esp. guest services. We checked our bags in to hold until our plane and we were counting the bags and she made fun of us like we couldn't count. She told the bell hop that we had 6-7-8 whatever they don't know, right in front of us. That was unacceptable. Upon return, I might check out a different hotel around Union SQ. But, expedia does offer great deals.
