Hilton San Francisco Fisherman's Wharf - Superb

SUPERB Hotel.
New Management that really has made a tremendous difference to Service standards. Wonderful Location. Newly Renovated. Clean, LARGE rooms and accessible facilities. Convenient in-room safe with plenty of space. Excellent Service from Front Desk, to Concierge, to Housekeeping and to Room Service.
My wife recently had knee surgery, so location was all important. This location was the BEST! A taxi to the Wharf and Pier 39 was only about $5 and so it was very easy to enjoy ourselves and then rest at the Hotel in the afternoon before going out for dinner.
It is so easy to plan and enjoy a vacation with a family from this location.
Fisherman's Wharf is just 3 blocks away. Tour to Alcatraz is a must while you are visiting, but make reservations before you get to San Francisco.
Cable car turnaround is very close to the hotel and a great way to journey quickly to the Union Square area for Macy's, etc.
Hotel’s garage is easy to use and is less than one block from a Petrol station - very convenient.
Hotel is only about 2 blocks away from a 24 hour Walgreens.
All in all, THIS HOTEL HAS IT ALL! It's superb location allowed us to get the very best out of our stay in San Francisco.
Excellent base in SF

Stayed a week in SF; loved the hotel. The room was large and clean, parking handy (I had to drive to Stanford daily) and the location great. The friendly service and good breakfast topped the experience. Superb value for the money!
Good hotel

Solid 3 star hotel. Good size rooms (we got an executive king room,) it was clean, decent furniture, very comfortable beds and pillows. Although it could definately use new bedspreads and blankets (they were clean, but outdated and worn.) We had a handicapped room (for no reason) so the bathroom was huge. But the water pressure in the shower was pretty low.
Location was awesome, just blocks to Fisherman's Wharf. Staff was very helpful and polite, and went out of their way making recommendations for places to eat.
I'm an Honors member, and was told by the reservationist (800 number) that if I upgraded to executive level, I would be on a separate floor (less children) and it includes breakfast. When I got there, I found out that's not the case - since they're a small hotel, they don't have an executive level. However, the manager didn't hesitate to give me access to the free breakfast to avoid a situation, which was appreciated.
The windows are thin and you can hear the traffic somewhat, but it didn't bother us. Didn't hear neighbors, but could hear them walking around on the floor above us - but it wasn't disturbing.
Overall the hotel was very good, a solid 3 star. It was perfect for the location and price we paid. We wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
As a side note, the staff recommended Bobo Quivaris for dinner (not sure how to spell it,) - that had to be the best filet mignon we've ever had in our lives!! The food was OUTSTANDING, the atmosphere was wonderful - very eclectic, and overall an incredible place to dine, we highly recommend it.
We also went to Aliotos restaurant on the Wharf (pier 43, I think.) The service was absolutely awful (among the worst I've ever had,) and the food was just ok - I wouldn't recommend it. However, we have a feeling just our waiter was bad, and not the others, but we wouldn't go there again to find out.
Just O.K., not terrific...

We had just spent a night at the Rohnert Park Hilton, which was spectacular! The staff assured us that if we liked the Rohnert Park Hilton, we would LOVE the Hilton located on Fisherman's Wharf. WRONG!! We paid over $200.00 per night just for the room (parking in their garage was an additional $28.00 per night!), and I would rate it simply as acceptable. The room wasn't very large, but it was clean. This is an older hotel, and it shows. In Rohnert Park, our breakfast was included in the price of the room, and parking was free. The beds here were not very comfortable, and the street noise kept us up all night. We did enjoy the fact that we were close to all of the action on Fisherman's Wharf and could walk where ever we chose to go. The staff was also very helpful with directions. However, I really don't think this hotel was worth what they charge. I think I'd stay somewhere else on my next visit to San Francisco. Randi
