Hyatt Regency San Francisco

You can often find great weekend deals for around $125 USD per night.

Unique Quality: Wedged between the Financial District and the Bay, this Hyatt has great views of the Ferry Building, the Embarcadero, San Francisco Bay and the Bay Bridge. In fact, I took the nightime photo on my intro section from my hotel room when I was staying at this Hyatt back when much of the Embarcadero was still under construction. Anyway, it is also close to the eastern terminus of the California Street Cable Car and the Embarcadero BART station. Unfortunately, this Hyatt is a heathly walk from the nearst restaurants or other nightlife.

Walk, taxi, ?? from Fisherman's Wharf to Hyatt Regency

by spedprof

Folks,

Staying at the Hilton at Fisherman's Wharf (I know, I know but it wasn't my choice) and have a conference at the Hyatt Regency. Is taxi the best way to commute between the two. Approximate taxi fare? other suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

The distance between the two is approximately 1.5 miles. There are essentially two paths you can travel, and I would suggest walking. Firstly, you head east on Bay Street out of your hotel and when you hit the Embarcadero which runs along the Bay, head south until Washington Street, then head west and the Hyatt is right there. Or, you can exit your Hotel and head south on Columbus Street and walk until you hit Washington Street and then head East to the Emabarcadero. Taxi will cost you about $15 each way. Have fun.

San Francisco is a wonderful walking city (as long as you can do the hills) - but, I must admit, I'm prejudiced. I love walking The City!! Speaking of walking, if you have time while you're there - a great walking tour is The Barbary Coast Trail: http://www.sfhistory.org/bct/flash_index.html

Hope you have a good time!

I agree with the pro-walkers.

If you don't want to walk, or can't, or the weather is bad, take the Muni F line.
