Just central, that's all!
The New Central Hostel.
Dirty, noisy and very basic. I paid approx USD28.50/nite for a single room. Dorms are cheaper (and even noisier).
Yes, it is central, and yes, it is a hostel. But new? Not really. At the end of Market Street, this hostel is located in the Tenderloin area, one of the worse neighbourhoods in San Francisco. Often described as seedy, this neighbourhood is home to drug dealers and addicts, prostitutes and beggars. You have to stay alert 24/7, ignore the beggars and watch your belongings at any time. I stayed at this hostel for 3 nights and honestly, I didn't feel safe.
