We recently stayed at the Mission Inn and it was horrible. The resident managers would not allow us to check-in, despite the resident manager having previously ok'd our check-in on another person's authorization to charge her credit card. This other person had personally spoken with the resident manager, faxed over her credit card authorization and had us take the original authorization with us. Upon arrival, my kids sat outside for over one hour while the resident manager refused to allow us to check-in unless I put down a $500 deposit! (She later lied to the person who'd authorize the credit card charge, telling her that she wasn't at the desk!) To make matters worse, the resident manager said we now have to pay $5 per head, over and above the room rate because we had over the number of people the rooms were reserved for (we'd reserve TWO rooms with THREE beds in each and we had a party of nine -- 4 adults with five kids). They finally let us check-in ONLY when I gave them $500 cash and agreed to pay $5 per head for the "extra" persons (5 of them), although we were never told or notified of this charge. The service is horrible and the rooms not only stank, but the floors were so dirty they blackened the bottom of my son's socks! I would never go back to the Mission Inn, much less recommend it to anyone I liked (maybe to someone I despised).

Nothing outstanding at all.
