Don't Stay Here
My husband and I stayed here one night and it was really an aweful experience. First, the staff is really rude and really unfriendly. Everyone there has an attitude problem and are really unhelpful. I asked to use their lobby bathroom and the manager just waited there for me to give back the key in a really unfriendly, unhelpful, angry way that made me feel uncomfortable. I don't think he wanted me to use that bathroom. Third, the rooms are so crappy and they smell musty and old. The sheets may be clean but feel dirty. We had an old zenith tv in the room and the sound would come in and out. the wooden blinds were so dusty and kind of sticky. Fourth, it's in a really shady neighborhood, close to the red light district. At 3:30am, the guy next to our room was having sex with the loudest hooker, which woke me up and I couldn't get back to sleep till she finally left. The hotel didn't do anything. You really don't want to bring anyone you love, be it your spouse or your family and especially kids to this hotel. It really sucks! I never write bad reviews but I had to get this one out. Stay away from this place. Trust me.
Unique Quality: There's nothing good about this place. Definitely don't bring your kids here.

Seedy area, but decent place
Well, I probably wouldn't stay here again, but it wasn't all that bad. It's just that the neighborhood is a bit gritty, with the occasional transvestite streetwalker on nearby corners and an adult book store directly across the street. During the day, however, it's perfectly safe and there is a bus line a block up on Van Ness.
Unique Quality: The room was nice despite the view out the front window onto busy Geary Street and the adult book store. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was good with some serious water pressure in the shower. It's a seven block walk straight up Geary to Union Square.
