Chinatown has only one motel...
Chinatown has only one motel that I am aware of. It's the Royal Pacific Motor Inn on Broadway. It looks like a clean establishment. It has a parking lot which is a valuable commodity. Chinatown parking is very difficult otherwise. On the edge of Chinatown is the tall Holiday Inn on Kearny Street.
Telegraph Hill doesn't have any hotels that I know of. Fisherman's Wharf has quite a few hotel, such as the Travelodge, Ramada Inn, Holiday Inn. There are probably no hostels here because of the expensive land.

In Fisherman's Wharf, there...
In Fisherman's Wharf, there are quite a few hotels (like the Travelodge, Holiday Inn, Ramada Inn, etc.) In Chinatown, there are only 2 hotels, the Royal Pacific Motor Inn (a reasonably kept place with PARKING! and the Holiday Inn (on the edge of Chinatown on Kearney Street). In the Richmond District in the northwestern part of the city, there are few if any hotels. Laurel Inn is one of them.
