The Clarion Inn Silicon Valley offers pretty much what you'd expect from the Clarion chain. You get a squeaky clean room in a new-ish hotel, comfy beds, cable TV, internet hookup, free breakfast, a small pool, and no personality whatsoever - great if you're there on business, which I'm guessing makes up the bulk of their bookings. It also had a fridge, coffee maker, and I think a microwave as well.
I paid $102/night on Orbitz, but I probably could have got it for less had I looked around a bit more. But I was going in for spine surgery, and needed a nice place for my folks to crash while I was in the nearby hospital. The room was a 2 queen, non-smoking room which was more than adequate for our needs, though I think it would have been cramped if there were actually four of us. But for 2 or even 3 people, it was fine.
I didn't try the breakfast, so I can't vouch for it. There's a diner right next door that my folks said had very good breakfast.
Directions: Just north of the Capitol Expressway on Monterey (Hwy 82). Keep your eyes peeled; it's kind of hidden.
