    Consider Red Roof For centrality

    by

I've stayed here 2 times. First stay was excellent. On the latter, overall pleasant experience- did have some issue of double charge but isolated incident and i won't knock the place too harshly for that.

Standard modern features are here and advantageous- free wifi, plenty of TV channel, coffee maker that made super hot coffee (silly me. i burned myself with it), sizable bathroom, hot tub outdoors!

    Clean room, attentive housekeeping

Located right off the 5 Freeway, Main St

Very friendly public transportation options just outside. Very frequent OCTA bus 53 going north-south every 15-25 min or so. Plus, OCTA bus 83 goes straight to Disneyland entrance within 10-15 min of a ride.

It's an afforadble 3 star hotel option

In a nutshell, stay here for a very central place to be in O.C.

Unique Quality: Very reasonable walking distance to Discovery Center (within few steps) and other Santa Ana attractions, like Bowers Museum, Kidseum, and Mainplace Mall (5 min walk+-)

Adjacent to nice walking, bike trail along Santa Ana river

Polly Pies right next to hotel. great simple eats!

Short walk to Mother's Market, where you can eat very healthy/organic foods.

Directions: off the 5 FWY, Main St

Minter House 1900

by Yaqui

Named after Pioneer George W. Minter, this beautiful twelve room, two story home was built in 1877. The builder/architect was Henry C. Berry. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is located across from a park named after a relative of the Minters, Albert W. Birch Park. It is such a lovely Victorian.
