Double Tree Resort
by Cammel11
I have stayed here a couple of times before. The hotel is located off Cabrillo Blvd. in front of East Beach. Many of the rooms have a wonderful ocean view. The rooms just as they do on the website. They are clean and comfortable! The staff is also very nice and helpful.
Unique Quality: The hotel is located across the street from a great beach. One downside is that it is a walk to get to State Street. There is a city run waterfront shuttle that can take you to and from the hotel to State Street and the Harbor.

Great for Weddings
by fcarta29
Santa Barbara is a beautiful place and a perfect location for a wedding. To the East there are forever stretching green mountains to the West there are great beaches full of surfers and volleyball players.

Very upscale!
by Yaqui
I have to say I have not stayed here. It does not look cheap, but I think I would feel like I was getting my monies if I stayed here. Our trolley tour took us by and right up to front entrance of the place and I must say it was very pretty and huge! I loved the gardens that completely surrounded the place. I just checked on how much it cost...and I am not surprised. Still I think honeymoon couples love this place and couple who are celebrating anniversaries might enjoy to stay here because of all the amenities it provides or you just may want to stay some where fancy-shmacy:-)

Fess Parker's Red Lion Inn, when I stayed here that was the name but it's now called Fess Parker's Doubletree Resort.
Don't remember, I was on an expense account.

Best beach on West Coast of USA, namely East Beach
by MissyWQ
Most spectacular ocean front resort. Located less than a mile from the Harbor and downtown attractions on State Street. If you can't afford to stay there, you must at least go into the lobby and see the splendor of the interior and the splendid view of the exterior - the WATER - Santa Barbara Channel which opens out to the Pacific Ocean but is protected by the Channel Islands about 15 miles out. Look at the mountains on those Islands! No wonder, we don't get the force of the Pacific Ocean on our beaches.
Unique Quality: Fess Parker's Doubletree Resort at the Beach is the place to feel like you are in Paradise.
This East Beach was rated as one of the Top in America with NIGHTLIFE by Prof. Stephen Leatherman (topbeaches.com). I was amazed at the info he has about all of American beaches.Ocean view, banquet and meeting rooms.

Fess Parker's is our favorite
by A TripAdvisor Member
We have stayed at many hotels in Santa Barbara over the years. Fess Parker's Doubletree has become our favorite. Rooms are large, staff is friendly, the location can't be beat-- it's across from the beach. The new beds are luxurious; the bedding and comforters are down, I think. What a good night's sleep we had! Although it might not appear to be cheap, especially to out-of-town guests who are not familiar with Santa Barbara and its premium on-seaon rates, we think it's priced appropriately and reasonably in comparison with other places in the area. We also like it because it's very dog friendly. Upon check in, canine guests receive a doggie bag with treats from the Three Dog Bakery and a dog-travel magazine. Your pooch can even order room service. Our pup liked the chopped sirloin. Yum Yum. And unlike other places that want to gauge you with a 100 doller per stay dog surcharge, the Fess Parker DT lets your dog stay for free.
A very nice big hotel
by SurfaceTravel about Fess Parkers Doubletree Resort, Santa Barbara
I stayed here on business for a week in 2000. It's a large luxurious hotel that manages to hold a lot of character and interesting decor. The rooms were huge, even by American standards. Service was good. I would stay there again.
