Peaceful comfort and great service

I would definitely recommend this quaint, cozy, friendly B&B. You can feel alone in your room or on the lovely grounds (plenty of room to stroll around), or chat with other guests on one of the porches or in the Victorian house, any of which you can select for the great meal service. Staff quickly whipped out three restaurant suggestions with easy walking directions, when we asked about a nearby place for dinner. The one we selected had live music, welcome after a long drive to get to Santa Barbara. Not a reader of poetry, the old books on the fireplace mantle in my room tempted even ME to read several pages! CD music selections were lovely and varied.

Unique Quality: Several different lush garden areas to sit in or stroll about, surrounded by high hedges, make you forget you are only a few short blocks from downtown Santa Barbara. Handicapped accessible room is HUGE, comfortable, beautiful. All cottage rooms feel secluded from each other, as well as from the house.

Wonderful Stay

We had the pleasure of staying at the Simpson House B&B recently and found it a delightful experience. The rooms are cozy and warm and ours had a radio tuned to soft classical music that immediately relaxed us after the drive from Orange County. The staff is wonderful and very helpful. They were quick to respond to our special needs and provided a scrumptious breakfast and cordial tea in the afternoon. What a mavelous place. We'll be back.

Unique Quality: In room coffee was very tasty - may have been one of Trader Joe's specialties. The bathroom items were more than we needed and the hand creme very soothing. Just a short walk to town for food, shops, and theaters.

PERFECT!

We are Santa Barbara locals. We needed a place for my mother-in-law last year to stay during her yearly Easter visit for a week. She has very refined tastes and we needed somewhere she would be comfortable and pampered. The Simpson House was perfect in EVERY way! I can't recommend it highly enough. I was so shocked when I read at the previous reviewers comments they are so far from our own experience and obviously from those before him. My extremely happy Mother-in-law will be staying at the Simpson House again this year and we hope for many more to come. Thank you Simpson House for your character, charm and being such a diamond in Santa Barbara.

Unique Quality: Excellent breakfast and evening appetizers

Lovely gardens.

Amazing staff.

Great location.

Charm galore!!

What a great weekend!

When we arrived at the Simpson House Inn in Santa Barbara my husband and I immediately felt the stresses of our lives slip away. All our senses began to relax and feel renewed. The staff was extremely attentive. Our cottage was romantic and light and airy. We spent a lot of time walking around and sitting in the serenity of the beautiful gardens. Even the air smelled fragrant from the tree blossoms. The breakfast was outstanding and it was nice to eat outside on the veranda. Santa Barbara is such a lovely city to explore. We found that we could walk all over town. But our favorite part of the whole weekend was the time we spent at the Simpson House. We did not want to leave. It helped that as we drove down the driveway back to our hurried lives, we promised each other that we would return soon. We highly recommend this place!‎ Pam

Fabulous weekend away

My wife and I had a fabulous weekend getaway break at the Simpson House. This place is just charming, with an extraordinary attention to detail. The staff were really helpful and we had a wonderful time time from start to finish. It was so peaceful, with that magnificent English Oak in the garden.

Unique Quality: Romantic - log fire in the bedroom !!
Tranquil - lovely gardens.
Wine tatsing !! - what a way to kick start a romantic weekend than by sampling some local wines.

Night mare

We rented five rooms for a fifty year anniversary on January 23, 2010 cost $2417.81. Our room did not have a working heater so the owner gave us a portable heater that was inadequate. It cycled on and off all night making for a restless night. In the morning my wife was taking a shower and the shower head flew off hitting her on the chin. Her chin was cut. Later we learned the owner did not fix the heater because it would cost over $4000.00 I would not stay in the Simpson House inn again and would advise others to not stay there.
