Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park is located just north of Santa Cruz and consists of about 4,000 acres of old growth redwoods. The park has beautiful hiking trails (total 20 miles), and is a favorite of mountain bikers. Those who just want to relax and enjoy the scenery can drive to the visitor's center and purchase a ticket to ride on the Roaring Camp Railroad, an excursion steam train.
