Stretch your legs at Waller Park

Nice place to relax under the shade or next to one of the two lakes and soak up some of the cool coastal weather. About 153 acres boasts nice size playgrounds for the kids, basketball & volleyball courts and an area for Rover to burn some energy off. Most of the time you'll find a hot dog cart in the parking lot if you aching for a snack.

Museum of Flight - on the airport property away from the terminal. Did you see 'The Rocketeer'? filmed here, full size mock up of the plane. Fun stuff.
Waller Park, a Santa Barbara County Park. Really big, lots of picnic sites, BBQs, pony rides(weekends), two kiddie playgrounds (both newly redone) a course for a frisbee golf like game (I forget what it's called), two ponds with birds and one with fishing too. Lots and lots of mature trees and lawns.
Enjoyable Trip in CA

"Santa Maria"
This seemed like a great spot if you want to be between San Luis and Santa Barbara. I went up to Pismo Beach one day and then down to Santa Barbara the next. I had a nice time on the beaches and the downtown area of Santa Barbara was enjoyable. Santa Maria was uneventful but a great middle ground between these two great cities.

Santa Maria, CA.... I've lived here all my life! It's not as bad as I used to think it was! =) In fact, I have found it's actually in a very convient location. It's only three hours to Los Angeles, four hours to San Francisco (one of my all-time favorite places), 15 minutes to the beach, 30 minutes to San Luis Obispo (cool college town), and an hour to Santa Barbara (another WAY cool Cali city). So I have found that living here is perfect. Very centrally located. And the city is not too big.. not too small. We have about 80,000 people. Not too shabby. And the area is growing a lot too. =)
