Considering the Hotel Casa Del Mar in Santa Monica?

People's Republic of Santa Monica by giampiero6
Well, Santa Monica used to be jokingly called the People's Republic of Santa Monica because of it's supposed left-ish bent. ) A kind of Berkeley of Southern California if such is possible) It's true that Santa Monica has a more left bent and that the mayor is from the Green Party (a tiny fringe party in the US not like Europe) but increasingly Santa Monica is becoming more pro-business and developer friendly. Still, Santa Monica toyed with a 'living wage' referendum, regularly plays host to homeless soup kitchens, and has instituted some rules to keep chains from forcing small businesses out of prime locations (sadly not very effective.) Unlike other westside enclaves that are part of Los Angeles like Venice or West LA, Santa Monica like being independent.
