What do expect for the price?

Dumpy from the outside, but not bad inside. Listen, this is right across from the pier and walking distance to 3rd Street Promenade. People, you are in CALIFORNIA, why in the world are you in your room anyway? Stop staying in your room judging and go out and meet a hot young starlet and tell her you are a producer:)

DUMPY! (and now defunct)

THANKFULLY...THIS HOTEL HAS NOW BEEN TORN DOWN AND THEY ARE BUILDING A SWANK NEW HOTEL.

Were it not for the great location near the pier and 3rd street promenade, this hotel would have been out of business a long long time ago. It's run down, dumpy, smelly and sketchy. I can't believe this joint is still around, and keep waiting for the magic of renovation and replacement to happen here. Surely some other hotel could buy this joint, demolish and start afresh. In this economy though, that might not happen for a while....

Unique Quality: The location is very good, but I don't think it would be worth it...

Downmarket Motel

We booked this motel as it was right opposite Santa Monica Pier the end of our Route 66 Road Trip. The location is about the best that can be said of this motel. We may have been unlucky ,but I'm glad we only stayed one night. The room was very smelly and we never found out why.We ended up buying a aromatic candle to try and freshen the air .The whole place was a bit down at heel ,but then it was cheaper than other accomadation in that area.
