Shutters on the Beach

I just spent four nights at this beautiful hotel. My room was huge, furnished with a desk, easy chair, huge plasma TV and the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. There are beautiful books on the shelves that make it feel homey. There's a large bathroom with jacuzzi tub, and lovely bath products. The towels were plentiful and soft, and the bathrobe generously cut and cuddly. The restaurant has a great menu filled with healthy yet delicious choices. I had room service breakfast most days, and the staff were very nice, friendly and helpful.

Unique Quality: The public areas are great. The lobby has lots of seating areas and two huge fireplaces glowing cozily. The roof top pool is heated and surrounded by comfy chaises longues. The view goes on forever across the Pacific, and Santa Monica pier is lit up at night. I had a massage in the spa that was amazing.

For about $500 a night you can get a room with a view... Yes, you can actually gaze out at a sun-soaked beach, 24 hours a day, just by opening the shutters over the French doors leading to your own private beach patio right outside your hotel room. That's right, all day, all night, rain or shine, your view will be unhindered because the patio walls are painted with a trompe l'oeil beach scene!

Wow, Giampiero told me to stay at this hotel on my next visit, and boy was he right! Mainly because it's next door to his home... the boy kept me up all night! Don't let him believe that he's hard at work. There's a constant party going on at his house, and the boom-boom-boom from the PA and his bombin' DJ kept all the guests at Shutters allllll nigggghhhhht long.

Unique Quality: Shutters is the place to stay in Santa Monica. Great Hotel located on the beach and close to all the Santa Monica attractions. Bed and Breakfast atmosphere with the resources of a hotel.
