    I have worked at the Solvang Gardens Lodge for approximately one year. The majority of the guests seem pleased with their stay and many guests return frequently. The lodge is located on Alisal Road approximately five blocks from Mission Drive (which is the same as Hwy 246 in Solvang) and three blocks to Copenhagen Street ~ my favorite street for shopping. The Alisal River Golf Course is a short walk in the opposite direction. The feeling of the property is very relaxed and homey with two comfortable gardens, one of which has been the location of several small weddings. The only thing not in the rooms that is unusual is telephones. A continental breakfast is included with fresh Danish pastry from Olsen’s Bakery. Pets and smoking are not allowed.

    The Solvang Gaard Lodge was the first lodging in Solvang, built in 1950. It has the look of a Danish farmhouse. The name was changed to Solvang Gardens Lodge in 1999. Earlier this year the Billiards Cottage was converted to a Spa Cottage so massage treatments could be offered. It is overall a unique property with many nice features ~ I recommend it.
