Considering the Bw Sonoma Valley Inn in Sonoma?

BR Cohn Winery by sue_stone
The first winery we visited in the Sonoma Valley was the BR Cohn Winery, which is located in the heart of the valley in Glen Ellen. It was founded in 1984 by Bruce Cohn, who is obviously a man of many talents as he is also the manager of the well known musical group, the Doobie Brothers. The winery is in a pretty setting, and the tasting room is framed by rose bushes. There are some quirky garden sculptures (see photos) and a couple of classic cars to see too. The winery also produces olive oil, and there is a separate shop selling this, along with various other winery related paraphernalia and gourmet food goodies. The tasting here worked a little differently than the others we did in the region. Here we were able to select 4 wines to taste from a list of 15. We chose to taste a chardonnay, a pinot noir, a zinfandel, and a cabernet sauvignon. We really liked them all, though the standout was the Russian River Pinot Noir, so we bought a bottle, which we brought back to London and enjoyed one night with a meal of venison.
