Lazy susans

Do you still have the wine barrel top lazy Susan's?

Re: Lazy susans

by TexasDave

Your question shows up under the 'Sonoma' forum but no one can answer the question because there is no point of reference. It seems you saw someone's tip but there's no way of telling what you are referring to. You might want to try again and include more details, or VTmail the person whose tip you were reading.

Re: Lazy susans

If you're wondering whether they still make/sell wine barrel Lazy Susans in the California Wine Country, Michael Chiarello's store, NapaStyle, offers them. Here's the link: http://www.napastyle.com/catalog/search.cmd?form_state=searchForm&keyword=Lazy+Susan&ggl_b&cm_mmc=Google+Search-_-Tabletop+-+Serving-_-Barrel+Ring+Lazy+Susan-_-wine+barrel+lazy+susan&gclid=CMzuhtXly5oCFR0SagodHm7P3A

Hope this helps!

Travel Tips for Sonoma

Address of 2009 Dream Home

by bonnylillass

If you do a birds eye view through "Maps by Microsoft Virtual Earth" the house is located on the corner of Patten & 5th St. East. The house is not shown but you can identify the surroundings with the front view of the house on the Dream Home 2009 site.
I hope this helps.

Making friends

by littlesam1

I met this lady and her husband on the wine tour. As I mentioned earlier, as the tour progressed and the wine was consumed we all became better friends. Now looking back at this photo I realize I don't even know her name. But it was a fun day.

Don't buy your wines at the Winery

by so1333

You will find that locals do not buy their wines at the wineries. In Sonoma the place to buy wine is at the Wine Exchange of Sonoma. Their prices are better than the wineries and they will ship your purchases home. They also have a great wine and beer bar in rear of the store. It is a popular place for the locals to gather in the early evenings.

Take care of cellar rats

by jakelorenzo

Even in a laid back town like Sonoma, winery owners can be a bit haughty. Winemakers sometimes revel in their star status, but cellar rats, the men and women who actually make the wine, can be trusted and are a constant source of entertainment.
Whenever you encounter a cellar rat (identified by their rubber boots or stained hands during the harvest season) it is customary to offer to buy them a beer. (It takes a lot of good beer to make great wine.)
You will often be immediately welcomed into a closed society and hear hair-raising tales of winemaking misadventures and get the poop on all the local winemakers.

Wine country essentials

by jakelorenzo

Wear comfortable shoes when visiting wineries. One of the best parts of visiting wineries is walking in the vineyards. Vineyards are dusty, uneven and often difficult to manuever. Open sandals, nice shoes, and high heels are definitely NOT recommended.
In the winter, wineries are really, really cold. Dress accordingly.
Summers in wine country have typical day temperatures in the high eighties or low nineties, but night time temperatures usually go down into the fifties. Light jackets are recommended. Never go to wine country without a corkscrew. Bring a couple of real wine glasses. They will make your picnics much more elegant and they make the wine taste better.
